Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Khalid bin Abu Bakar was born on 5th September 1957 in Seremban Negeri Sembilan. He joined the Royal Malaysia Police as a Probationary Inspector on 5th December 1976. He is married to Puan Sri Datin Sri Imran binti Ibrahim and has four children. He was appointed, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police on the 15th April 2011. He graduated with an LLB (Hons.) degree from the International Islamic University Malaysia and attended the prestigious University of Cambridge, United Kingdom for the Wolfson Leadership Course.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Khalid bin Abu Bakar has an illustrious career in the Royal Malaysia Police. He has served in various positions before being appointed as the Chief Police Officer of Negeri Sembilan on 16th December 2005. Between 1st November 2006 and 1st July 2007 he was the Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigations Department. He was appointed as the Chief Police Officer of Selangor on 2nd July 2007 before being promoted as the Director of Internal Security/Public Order Department (IS/PO)on 25th October 2010. He was appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of Royal Malaysia Police on 15th. April 2011.
In his 37 years of service with the Royal Malaysia Police, his commitment and efforts to the nation’s security has been recognized. For this, he has been honoured with several awards, the highest being PANGLIMA SETIA MAHKOTA (PSM) which carries the title `TAN SRI’ on 2nd. Of June 2012. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Khalid bin Abu Bakar was appointed as the INSPECTOR GENERAL of Royal Malaysia Police on 17th. Mei 2013.
