MTCP NON - COMMONWEALTH COUNTRIES

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BLUE OCEAN STRATEGY (ICBOS) 16 – 18 AUGUST 2016

Administrative Arrangements

1.Date and Venue of ICBOS and CAPAM

The above Conferences will be held back-to-back at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Putrajaya, Malaysia from 16 to 20 August 2016. The PICC is the main convention centre in Putrajaya, Malaysia, located on the top of Taman Puncak Selatan in Precint 5. PICC is approximately 25-30 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Further information on PICC can be accessed through http://www.picc.com.my.

2.Arrival and Departure

The MTCP participants are expected to arrive in KLIA on 15 August 2016 and depart for their country of origin on 19 August 2016.  Officers from Razak School of Government (RSOG) will be assisting participants upon arrival at the KLIA.

3.Air Fares and Ground Transportation

Economy class air travel for participants from/to the capital city of the participant’s country to/from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, once at the beginning and once at the end of the Conferences is provided and arranged by RSOG. Participants are not allowed to change the route that has been fixed.

Ground transportation (Shuttle from Hotel to Event/Event to Hotel) and airport transfers will be provided).

4.Passport, Visa and Health Regulations

Wherever applicable, participants are advised to arrange for single entry visa on their own from the nearest Malaysian High Commission/Embassy. The expenses incurred to obtain this visa should be borne by the participants. Passports or other travel documents must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of stay allowed in Malaysia.

Participants from certain countries are required to produce a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate at the entry point in Malaysia.

5.Airport Clearance

Where possible, participants should appoint one member to be responsible for handling travel documents and luggage clearance for the delegation. [Please ensure that luggage tags to be provided are attached to all checked-in baggage to facilitate collection at the baggage claim area of the KLIA.]

6.Registration

Participants are requested to submit their Registration Form (Annexe A) to the Secretariat by 11 July 2016. Click here to download Registration Form (Annexe A).

7.Accommodation and Meals

RSOG will bear the cost of accommodation for registered and confirmed MTCP participants. The number of MTCP participants for each delegation is in line with the invitation letter.

All participants will be provided with hotel accommodation (breakfast included) at Palm Garden Hotel arranged by the RSOG. More information on the hotel may be accessed through its website http://www.palmgarden.com.my.

Meals such as lunch, tea breaks and official dinners (where applicable) will be provided at the Conference. However, on other days, dinner is not provided or arranged by the organiser.

8.Telecommunication Facilities

The hotel has direct dial telephone and facsimile. Utilisation of these facilities will be chargeable at hotel rates and shall be borne by MTCP participants. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

9.Official Language

English is the working language at both Conferences.

10.Dress Code

Participants are expected to be in Business Attire during the Conferences.

11.Medical Assistance

The Secretariat will assist participants requiring medical assistance during the Conference.

12.Shopping

IOI Mall Putrajaya is approximately 10 minutes walking distance from the Palm Garden Hotel. Shopping hours are usually between 10.00 am to 10.00 pm.

13.Currency

The Malaysian currency is Ringgit Malaysia (RM). Foreign currency may be exchanged at the airport. Most large stores, restaurants, hotels and resorts accept major cards including American Express, Visa and MasterCard. Personal checks drawn on foreign banks are generally not accepted.
